Welcome 2012...

  • Next week's Relief Society lesson is based on the talk entitled Resolutions, by Elder Joe J. Christensen.
  • The December Visiting Teaching message may be found here,  An Extensive Sphere of Action.  Our year end reports are due very quickly this quarter - please do your visiting supervisor a favor and call her and let her know all those you visited in December.
  • Do you need a new Ward List?  Maybe you want a hard copy for your desk drawer instead of looking up an address or phone number on lds.org.?  If so, just stop into the Ward Clerk's office.  There are lots of different versions of Ward Lists available!
  • If you did not receive your 2012 Manual (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith) on December 18th, copies will be in the Relief Society Room this week.  After January 1st extra copies will be available in the Ward Library if you forget yours at home.
  • See our "Calendar of Events (to the right) for other important dates to remember.  Also see http://www.lds.org

Some December announcements...

  • Sunday's Relief Society lesson is based on the talk by Jeffrey R.  Holland entitled Christmas Doesn't Come From a Store.
  • The December Visiting Teaching message may be found here,  An Extensive Sphere of Action.
  • Our Ward Christmas Party will be a breakfast this year at the Treeline Chapel . . . mark your calendar for Saturday morning, December 17th.  8:30 a.m.  FUN.
  • If you'd like to help a family in need this Christmas please see the Vegas Valley Ward Angel Tree in the foyer on Sunday.  Simply remove an ornament from the tree for a Walmart gift card for the denomination appropriate for your family.  Purchase the gift card and put it in an envelope (along with the ornament you removed from the tree) and give it to a member of the Bishopric.  The gift cards will be used to purchase specifics for a few families, anonymously.  There are a few ornaments on the tree designated for cash (if that is easier for your family), but the preferred method of donation is a Walmart gift card.  The deadline to turn in the gift cards is December 18th.

  • Thank you to all who participated in our December Relief Society Meeting.  It was a beautiful evening. Our missionary packages were FULL, we had canned goods to donate to The Shade Tree and so much fabric to share with the Humanitarian Center.  Thank you for being a part of a special holiday evening.
