Those who attended our self-reliance class in May had a great time learning to make bread, took home a small loaf and samples of honey butter and cinnamon honey butter (all delicious). Several sisters have requested a demonstration on bread making without the use of mixers. So if you'd like to learn bread making by hand join us next Wednesday, June 5th @ 6 pm at the Roach home.

As our youth are getting ready for summer camp, there are many who are looking for work to help them pay for those camps. Please, if you have jobs around the house that can be done by one of them, don't hesitate to hire one, two, or more to help out. You will not only be giving them the opportunity to go to camp but also the satisfaction of earning their own way. Call one of the youth leaders if you are not sure  who to hire.

Tomorrow night, Tuesday, May 21st, 6:30 pm we will be having a Spa Night! Bring your favorite shade of polish and remove any old fingernail polish before coming. Bring your Laurel age daughters and your friends and join us for a night of pampering, relaxation, and caring for ourselves. Childcare will be provided.

Life is good!

Before we get to the business coming up and on going, let me say how much I love life. Yes, life is good, even with the trials and problems we face we have the opportunity to know grow and become more like our Heavenly Father. And as we work and/or endure through our trials we can know His infinite love for us. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there for us, they know what we need and the desires of our hearts and are waiting for us to ask. Check out these scriptures and put their promise to the test. I am sure you will find that Heavenly Father is true to His word. Matthew 21:22, 3 Nephi 18:20, Mormon 9:21.

For those with young men going to camp this summer, the Las Vegas Area Council offers scholarships to any Boy Scout attending an Area Scout Camp. Del Webb qualifies as an Area Camp. You must call the Scout Office to inquire about the scholarships.
