late January announcements, dates and times...

• Please mark your calendars for our next Relief Society Meeting on Tuesday, February 15th at 6:30 p.m.  Join us to assemble your very own 72-hour nutrition kit.  The food will be ready to be put into a #10 can and sealed (that night) for storage good for up to three (3) years.  Each kit will cost $5.00 and you will take your sealed #10 can home that very evening.  This is a golden opportunity to meet a practical temporal need.  The last day to order and pay for a nutrition kit will be Sunday, February 6th.  Please submit your payment in a tithing envelope in the "other" category with a notation on the slip that says "72-hour kit."  Additional details with sign-ups will be in your binders on Sunday.  Yes, you may assemble more than one!
• There will be an Adult Potluck Dinner Saturday, February 12th at 5 p.m.  Sign-up sheets will be in the binders on Sunday for a lasagna/spaghetti main course, green salad and garlic bread. Anyone who can is encouraged to attend the Temple following dinner.  Please see your binder on Sunday for additional information.
• This Sunday is our 5th Sunday Meeting - Relief Society will meet for a combined third hour with the Priesthood.
• Would you like to join a Vegas Valley Ward Family Home Evening Group?  Simply sign up and you will be paired with several other families in our Ward to meet once a month for a group FHE.  This is a great way to meet new members of our Ward and to strengthen existing friendships.  March will bring new FHE groups - now is your chance. If you are currently participating you will need to still sign up, so look in the Sunday binder for specifics.

• This week is the Vegas Valley Ward Conference.  Our Relief Society will be privileged to be taught by President Kevin Richardson during the third hour.  We are excited.

January announcements...

Happy New Year sisters of the Vegas Valley Ward Relief Society.  We hope your Christmas was filled with memory making experiences,  family memories focusing on the birth of our Savior.  What a beautiful time of year.  Announcements are as follows:

• This week's Relief Society lesson will be taught by Korina M. and based on the article by Anthony D. Perkins entitled The Great and Wonderful Love.  It's a beautiful talk.
• Please call in your Visiting Teaching report to your Visiting Teaching Supervisor by Sunday, January 2nd.  If you're uncertain who your Supervisor is just look on the piece of paper we gave you with your Visiting Teaching assignment.  Your Supervisor's name and phone number is listed on that paper.
• In 2011 Gospel Doctrine lessons will be focused on the New Testament.  See here for the Class Member Study Guide.  All are encouraged to attend.
