Only 6 more weeks of winter!
- PLEASE NOTE THE DAY CHANGE (I HAD IT WRONG) Its that time of year again, the final frost date is approaching and its time to prepare your garden plots. Join us at Pilar R. home on Wednesday, February 6th @ 6 pm for the first of our Self-reliance mini-classes. Pilar will show us what we need to do to get things ready for our first seeds and seedlings to go into the ground. Don't have, or don't have room for one? Not a problem, grab a flower pot and begin with just one plant. Nothing tastes better than garden fresh vegetables. Please bring a pot big enough for the herb or vegetable plant you want to grow, a pair of gloves, and potting soil. Also grab a notebook or binder to keep all your self-reliance class notes and handouts in for later reference.
- We should all be very excited! We have 3 young adults leaving our ward this month to serve full-time Missions, Tasha K, Melissa M. and Jacob B. That will bring the total number of full-time missionaries from our ward to EIGHT! And I know there will be more to come. I know they would all love to hear from you and you family. Click the link on the side of the page to get their addresses. For missionaries serving foriegn missions, The Church offers a pouch mail service (all letters are sent to Salt Lake and then a package of letters are sent to the various countries). This service is free, except for the cost of postage to SLC, so you won't have to pay the Airmail postage to send them a letter. There is an online service that will allow you, free of charge, to type your letter, as you would an email, and they will print it off in appropriate format for the Pouch Mail service and deliver it to the Church. By sharing this link we only making you aware of the service not endorsing any of the companies products or other services. www.dearelder.com
- Mark your calendars for Friday, February 15th, 7-9 pm. We will be having a ward Valentine's Day Cupid Carnival. ALL ward members are invited. There will be games, refreshments, music if you want to dance, and plenty of socializing to be a ton of fun. Oh, and wear something red.
- We have made a few changes to some of the visiting teaching routes. Those changes will be passed out on Sunday. Please see Christy L. if you did not get and current list of the sisters you visit.
- When was the last time you wrote one of the missionaries? Send them a card or letter, it's a great Sunday activity and they love hearing from us. See the back of the Ward program on Sunday for addresses.
- Playgroup is meeting every Thursday at Hollywood Park. This will be a weekly Playgroup from 10:45 a.m. until 12 noon.
- See our "Calendar of Events (to the right) for other important dates to remember. Also see http://www.lds.org
